From Science to Sensational
Will Schroeder and T.J. Paskach were chemical engineering students at Iowa State University when, “just for fun,” they invented a new way to flash-freeze ice cream using liquid nitrogen. Soon they developed a full-scale, computer-controlled machine prototype which they introduced at the 2000 Iowa State Fair. Their ice cream quickly developed a loyal following, and has been a fair favorite ever since! Over the next two years, both men earned their PhDs while tweaking their exclusive Nitro Freeze process and machine. They quickly expanded concession operations to state fairs in Minnesota, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri, and many others. The amazing “Nitro Ice Cream” has continued to please crowds and grow in popularity, and sales have continued to grow steadily. People come to the booths year after year and usually bring their friends! |
